Briggs & Stratton markets a brand called Fresh Start, when mixing 1 ounce per gallon will keep gasoline with a 10 percent ethanol blend useable for a period of up to 24 months, and will also keep the fuel system clean. They are introducing an advanced formula fuel treatment in January 2012 that will keep fuel with up to 10 percent ethanol useable for for up to 36 months.

@Stephen, Use the Blue Stabil (Marine) or Sea Foam. You can get the Sea Foam at most auto parts stores, Sears.com and Amazon.

When the repair shop calls me to tell me what they found with my snow thrower, mower and chipper shredder-that there was water in the fuel, they seem to imply that I am stupid and should not have allowed this to happen. When Itry to say that the ethanol is aknown cause, they remain silent, perhaps i the interest of customer relations and not to tellme that I am incorrect.

I have used Stabil, but water accumulates. Where is Sea Form available? Is it more effective?

We are in a lose-lose situation.

Thanks,

Hello,

I thought you'd want to check out this Consumer Reports piece with
some useful homeowners tips to improve their lawns on budget:

http://news.consumerreports.org/home/2011/03/grow-a-major-league-lawn-on-baseballs-opening-day.html?CMP=OTC-NEWS4

Here is an except:
"Taking your family to a major league baseball game can cost hundreds
of dollars but for $20 you can transform your lawn from a sandlot into
a ballpark-like emerald green with grass mixtures used at some of the
sports’ most storied stadiums."

Hope you’ll find this piece useful and that you'll share it with your readers.

Thanks!
